Great color and bang-for-buck.

Pros: - 16:10 ratio (1920x1200), so better for actual productivity and web browsing (more vertical real estate).
- Gorgeous, vivid (without being oversaturated) colors. Deep blacks really help images pop.
- IPS panel with Dell's UltraSharp warranty (3-years, zero dead pixels).
- Price; at around $300, you'd have to spend a lot more to make a meaningful upgrade to image quality or refresh rates.
- 24.1" size is right in the sweet spot between screen size and pixels per inch resolution.

Cons: - 16:10 ratio not supported in all games (garbage console ports usually only show 1920x1080).
- 60-hz refresh rate (fine for casual players, but hardcore gamers will demand more).
- 6-ms response time (in "fast" or "quick" mode) will lead to some minor ghosting compared to faster TN panels, but those panels will have inferior colors and image quality.

Other Thoughts: - If you're not ready to jump up to 1440p or 4K resolution, but want something a bit larger than 1080p with terrific colors and value, it's hard to do better than the Dell UltraSharp U2415.

Looks good, the tilt/rotate/swivel works very well, very easy to assemble.

Pros: Lots of ports at the back make it perfect to use for gaming, VR in particular.
The monitor itself is comfortable to use.
The thin edges look nice but they are not that much thinner than on my other monitor (a cheap LG). It doesn't bother me beucase I didn't buy it for the edges but after reading other reviews I was expecting something even thinner.

Cons: The ports at the back are under a cover, so cannot be easily accessed. For example, you can't use them to connect a USB stick: what's connected there will need to remain connected permanently.

Exceeds expections

Pros: - 16:10 form factor (more screen)
- infinity edges, top & sides
- robust appearance that is easy on the eyes (not Mac quality, but great for long term use)
- a long term system component; looking for a 8+ year life versus good enough to get the job done

Cons: - does not firmly clip into the 'dell flat panel monitor stand' in portrait mode (an accessory stand that crades the eport dock)

Don't Expect A Technical Review

Pros: My experience is likely colored by the fact that my old (8 years?!) HP 21.5" monitor was dying (persistent intermittent blackouts) and I made the mistake of buying a cheap ($89) 21.5" Dell that seemed to have a lower aspect ratio than the old one, and detail in the dark areas was washed out.

I returned that one and after almost buying a different model with glowing reviews apart from refresh rate (I don't game) I cancelled that order when shipping, recycling fee and taxes made it $100 more expensive than this one.

Anyway, I don't have enough experience to know whether any old 24" (24.1") monitor would have satisfied me, but I am thrilled.

My computer workspace is a computer amoire, so space is limited, but it fits fine and the narrow edges mean the entire space it takes is useful.

I work with lots of windows open, and the extra height of the 16:10 and 1920X1200 display ratio is very helpful.

I do work with graphics, but not on a professional level, yet even I can see the extra detail in the dark areas of the screen. I see no drop-off anywhere. For a tech dunce like me, having the settings seemingly p[ergect out of the box is a huge plus.

Cons: A tiny frustration: It's set up from the factory to use the DP cable. You'd think my Dell desktop would have a (mini-DP) port for that, but it did not. Since I didn't have a monitor set up, I could not consult the manual, so I spent about 45 minutes on the phone with Dell support, who managed to get through my foggy confusion and help me switch to HDMI.

Other Thoughts: I paid the extra $4.00 and delivery through NewEgg was fast and efficient.

Great monitor for this price range

Pros: Worlds better than the old TN-panel 1080p display I was using as far as color accuracy and viewing angles are concerned. The extra vertical space from the 16:10 aspect is more helpful than I'd anticipated when doing work-type stuff. Included USB hub is a nice touch as well. Build is plasticky, but feels solidly put together.

Also, the thing is crazy adjustable. Old monitor only let me tilt it, and even then had about 10 degrees of motion. This guy has tilt/rotate/swivel with pretty decent ranges on all three.

Cons: Only two real gripes - one, the monitor only comes with a DisplayPort cable for video hookups. While a decent chunk of newer video cards come with a DP connector, HDMI would have made more sense as it's a more widlely-used standard ATM.

Secondly, while the panel surface extends nearly to the edge of the display (so there's very little *physical* bezel), the actual display area of the panel stops about 1/4" from the edge giving it an extra little virtual bezel. Still about 1/3 the size of the honking plastic bezels on my old screen, but it detracts from the experience a little.

Pseudo-gripe: no DVI connections. Not that big a deal, and I knew that from reading the specs, but that coupled with the lack of a bundled HDMI cable forced a dig through the box-o-cables to get it hooked up.

Other Thoughts: All in all, it's a very solid display for the price range (seems to stick between 250 - 300 clams) if you're concerned about reasonable (if not quite perfect) color out of the box for image editing. You can get higher res at this price if you sacrifice build quality, or cheaper IPS panels at similar resolutions for less if you don't care about color as much.

If you're a creative pro, there are better, but more expensive options with larger color spaces and better density - but for hobbyist use, this is a pretty good buy.

Slick, but...

Pros: Feels lighter than my last Dell Monitors.
Definitely thinner than most.
Significantly thinner bezel. DisplayPort 1.2 (daisy chaining)
6ms response time (have to change it in monitor menu) is pretty solid, even for gaming (my last monitors were 8ms)
I love the extra depth (1920x1200). It's a bit less standard but vertical space is precious, especially in three-screen setups.
Receives (and outputs when daisy-chaining) both DisplayPort and Mini DisplayPort
USB 3.0 hubs, more inputs than usual (up to 5!)

Cons: Can't change any settings until video is being sent to monitor. Kinda weird...
Don't be fooled by the ultra-thin bezel. While it IS very small, there is a false bezel once you turn on the monitors. The picture doesn't actually reach the edge. All things considered however, it's about half the bezel of my last monitor.
One (of the three) monitors did not come with a USB 3.0 (A to B) cord. It was just a USB 2.0 (A to B) cord, which kinda defeats the purpose of the USB 3.0 hub in the monitor. While the 2.0 cable still works (because they are backwards compatible) it (obviously) did not drive full 3.0 which kinda reduces the USB hub to the equivalent of a bunch of USB 1.0 ports. I would love it if Dell would send me a true USB 3.0 (A to B) cable so I can take advantage of my expensive new monitor :)

Other Thoughts: Don't expect daisy-chaining to work in OS X. It's sad, I know. Apple doesn't feel the need to invest in that technology since it's not a requirement for the DP specification, especially since they're pushing Thunderbolt (which is admittedly a superior technology).

These will probably be the last monitors I buy before we enter the age of flexible fabric screens that are 5k and daisy-chainable with Thunderbolt 4.0 and USB-C

Very nice monitor

Pros: Extremely pleased with this monitor. Looking at the spotty reviews below, maybe I just go lucky, or maybe the quality of the panels has improved.

- Even backlighting
- Beautiful matte display
- Plenty bright, certainly much brighter than the old Samsung and HP monitors I replaced. I have it set to 70/100.
- 16:10 with 1920x1200 gives you a little extra room which is nice.
- Adjustable stand
- Comes with a DP -> mini DP cable and also takes HDMI.
- I'm not a professional artist or anything and can't speak to the quality of the calibration being done, but the colors seem very accurate to me when put side by side with either my second display (older ViewSonic) or my wife's cheaper Dell 16:9 from last year.

Cons: A few minor issues here but nothing that really makes it a bad product:

- The capacitive buttons on the front are dumb. If it's dark you may end up rubbing your thumb around hoping to hit the magic spot that turns it on since there's not even a texture to tell you where to touch. But hardly a deal breaker.
- The USB ports are very awkwardly positioned on the back. You have to plug things in vertically, which means blindly unless you flip the whole thing over or can crane your neck under the monitor somehow, and then you have to remove the back panel as well. There is one port that is actually accessible horizontally like any normal USB port, without removing the back. Better than zero I guess.

Since the button thing is an extremely minor issue that sometimes costs me a second or two at most and the USB hub is just a bonus, they don't affect my personal rating of the product. But YMMV.

Other Thoughts: Would definitely buy again. Currently have an older monitor 4:3 for my second display but would love to double up on this one.

Don't buy at $400 unless you have to have it now or can expense it. Got this on sale for less than $250.
